Challenge
A home building company had a complex set of data scattered across multiple applications with various reporting capabilities that were very siloed. They wanted to understand their full environment and generate a go-forward plan for building a simpler data architecture where it would be easier to find the information they needed.
Solution
We interviewed stakeholders throughout the company and developed a clear picture of the data that they had in the context of the business. We provided recommendations on how to begin reducing the technical debt in their environment and building something more robust.
Results
BUILT developed an interactive PowerBI report to interrogate technical debt in the form of PowerBI usage and on-premise data usage. This helped inform the clients decision making process on how to save 30% on their architecture costs, as well as ensuring that they weren’t migrating sunken costs into the new recommended architecture.
