Challenge
A nationwide insurance company had a legacy collocated data environment that was hard to manage, expensive to scale, and prone to outages. It was also difficult to introduce change into the environment, so it was holding back business initiatives.
Solution
Our team migrated the onsite database to the AWS cloud using standard Amazon products which can be scaled according to system load along with BUILT written automation processes. Snowflake was added to support analytic queries.
Results
The new cloud-based data warehouse are now on individually scalable systems across multiple availability zones for disaster recovery and it is easier to match need for data to specific resources and expenses. Additionally, outages no longer are an issue and business agility is increased through analytics infrastructure.
